Former Big Brother Naija 2023 Season 3 housemate Bamike Olowunmi, popularly known as BamBam, has opened up about her decision to participate in the reality show to advance her acting career in BBnaija 2023. In a recent interview with TVC, the aspiring actress revealed that prior to Big Brother, she faced countless rejections in movie auditions, leaving her frustrated. To break through the industry barriers, she saw the opportunity of Big Brother as a platform to gain visibility and boost her career.
“I have always aspired to be a part of the filmmaking world, and I took the bold step to audition for Big Brother [Naija] to increase my chances of being noticed. After graduating from film school, the struggle was real. Auditions often led to minor roles with meager pay, making it difficult to sustain my dream,” BamBam shared candidly.
Initially content with her life in Abuja, where she had a stable job and comfort, she decided to take a leap of faith and move to Lagos to pursue her acting ambition. However, it was her appearance in the Big Brother show that proved to be a turning point in her career. The exposure and recognition she gained from the show catapulted her to stardom, giving her the breakthrough she had been tirelessly striving for.
