Star Wars: Ahsoka Series (Photos) Disclose First Look at Thrawn: Grand Admiral Thrawn first captivated fans in the 1991 novel “Heir to the Empire” by Timothy Zahn, becoming a beloved character. While the books are no longer considered canon, Dave Filoni reintroduced Thrawn into the Star Wars universe during Season 2 of Star Wars Rebels.
In anticipation of Ahsoka’s arrival on Disney+, fans have been treated to new footage that unveils more about the highly anticipated Star Wars antagonist, Grand Admiral Thrawn. Previously, Lucasfilm had only provided a glimpse of a live-action Thrawn at the Star Wars Celebration, showing him from behind. During the event, actor Lars Mikkelsen was also confirmed to be portraying the villain, having previously voiced the character in the Star Wars Rebels animated series.
With the upcoming release of Ahsoka on Disney+, Dave Filoni is not only delving into Ahsoka Tano’s next chapter but also continuing the story of Rebels by bringing the majority of the series cast, including Thrawn, into live-action.
In the new trailer footage, fans are finally able to see Thrawn’s face, revealing Lucasfilm’s design for the red-eyed, blue-skinned Chiss. He is portrayed in his signature white uniform, adorned with the familiar Imperial insignia befitting a Grand Admiral.
